Content Filtering Firewalls

DeVore Data Solutions now offers Content Filtering Firewalls.  These firewalls seamlessly protect your network of computers from unwanted Internet content such as SPAM, computer viruses and inappropriate web sites (sexually explicit, gambling, etc. as defined by you).  No software needs to be installed and, in most cases, no configuration is necessary for each desktop PC.  The Content Filtering Firewall can be used to help a school or library become compliant with The Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA).  
 
The Content Filtering Firewall uses a combination of open source software specially configured for your environment.  As a second line of defense, OpenDNS can be configured to thwart attempts to access adult web sites.  
 
The firewall comes in a number of hardware configurations tailored to meet the capacity and configuration of your network.  Each firewall is housed in a small PC chassis.  A color-coded network cable is provided for each network interface.  Red is for the Internet, Green is for the local area network (LAN) at your office, and Blue (on select models) is for an additional network such as a wireless or public network.  
 
The Content Filtering Firewall sits between your Internet connection and your network.  It intercepts traffic between your network and the Internet and it will deny attempts to access viruses or inappropriate web content.  Below are some screen shots to illustrate this: 

 
 
SPAM and e-mail virus protection is seamlessly accomplished for POP3 access.  Suspect messages are tagged and can be easily deleted or filtered. 
 
Models 
 
Model One: (EFW-AS-512MB-NR-I2) 
The Base Model has 2 network interfaces - one to connect to the Internet Service Provider (ISP) and one to connect to the local area network (LAN) for the office.  
 
Recommended for 5 - 15 users.   
 
$499 plus $249/year maintenance

Model Two: (EFW-AS-1GB-NR-I2)
Model Two has twice the RAM as the Base Model and can therefore handle more users adequately.  
 
Recommended for 15 - 50 users.

Model Three: (EFW-AS-1GB-NR-I3)
Model Three is the same as Model Two except Model Three has 3 network interfaces - one to connect to the ISP, one to connect to the main LAN for the office, and a third for either a wireless access point or another separate network.  
 
Recommended for 15 - 50 users.  
 
$699 plus $349/year maintenance

Model Four: (EFW-AA-2GB-R1-I3)
Model Four builds on Model Three but with twice the RAM, a more robust dual core processor, and with a redundant hard drive subsystem (RAID 1).  The hard drives are mirrored so that a hard drive failure will not cause any disruption to your network or loss of your customized configuration or access logs.  
 
Recommended for 50 - 100 users or for networks where reliability is paramount.  
 
$899 plus $449/year maintenance

Maintenance 
 
Maintenance includes periodic software updates, periodic backups of system configuration, as well as ongoing customization (e.g. blocking or unblocking of categories or particular web sites).  These support tasks can be securely performed remotely for your convenience. Maintenance also includes ongoing hardware assurance which replaces any failed hardware in your firewall for no additional cost for parts or labor.  Service is guaranteed* to be performed by the next business day.  
 
*Any failure on the part of DeVore Data Solutions to meet the service agreement in the guaranteed time frame results in a refund to the customer equivalent to one month of maintenance.  
 
Service performed without a paid maintenance agreement will be at lower priority and will incur a $100 per incident/hour charge.
